The print head is a thermal element that creates printed images by selectively heating an array of resistors. For the Monarch/Very 9820/9825/9830/9835/9840/9850 series, the print heads are sold as modular components that can be replaced by users or service technicians in case of wear or bad spots.
Main Features and Advantages
A mechanical printer series supports 203dpi and 300 dpi print heads, allowing manufacturers to choose cost and resolution without changing the entire printer.
203 dpi is cost-effective and highly suitable for human readable text and standard 1D/2D barcodes of normal size (price/batch number, UPC). If you need very small text, dense GS1 DataMatrix/QR codes, or fine logos, choose a 300dpi print head. Choosing the appropriate DPI can reduce barcode scanning failures.
The 98xx series print head is modular, making it easy for users to replace.
There are heat transfer and direct heat modes, and these heads are used for label applications that require ribbon or direct heat storage. This flexibility makes the 98xx series useful on many packaging/labeling production lines.
