CAB SQUIX4 Printhead
The CAB SQUIX4 printhead has undergone rigorous testing and meets CAB's original equipment standards. The high-density heater matrix ensures clear and uniform ink transfer for fine text and small cell barcodes even at high printing speeds.
CAB PX4L PX4R Printhead
The CAB PX4L PX4R print head (OEM P/N P5956381 corresponds to 200 dpi, P/N P5956382 corresponds to 300 dpi) is a direct alternative thermal transfer print head. It is easy to install, "plug and play", does not require manual alignment, and is convenient for regular cleaning, maintenance, and replacement.
CAB Mach4 Printhead
The CAB A4+print head has three resolution variants -200 dpi (P/N 5954081), 300 dpi (P/N 5954072), and 600 dpi (P/N 5954077) - to accommodate a wide range of label applications. Each print head has a dense array of micro heater elements deposited on a precision ceramic substrate, ensuring accurate ink transfer from the ribbon to the medium.
Structure of CAB Printhead
Heating Elements:
These are small resistors that generate heat when an electrical current passes through them.
Substrate:
This is the base layer that supports the heating elements.
Driver ICs:
Integrated circuits that control the activation of the heating elements.
Protective Layer:
A coating that protects the heating elements from abrasion and contamination.
Basic Principles of CAB Printhead
The CAB printhead applies heat to the surface of the media, leaving it marked with the desired information. In direct thermal printers, the printhead applies heat to the pre-treated paper and reacts to the heat by changing colour where it is applied. On the other hand, in thermal transfer printers, the printhead applies heat to the ribbon and the ribbon is printed on the paper that passes underneath, which can be seen as a typewriter in which the ink ribbon is impacted by the ink and printed on the paper.
