1. Digi SM-90 Printhead
The Digi SM-90 print head is a thermal print head used in Digi's SM series electronic scales and label printers. It aims to provide high-resolution and reliable printing effects for production, daily life, and commercial applications such as price tags, barcode labels, and POS flight tickets.
2. DIGI SM90 Printhead 80mm
The Digi SM-90 thermal printhead is the OEM replacement printhead used in Digi's SM-90 series label/scale printers (commonly the 80 mm width version). It is a 203 dpi thermal transfer/thermal-direct printhead designed for point-of-sale and light industrial labelling tasks where clear barcodes, receipts and labels are required.
3. DIGI SM120 Printhead
SM-120 is a built-in thermal printer used in the DIGI SM-120 series printer. This is a compact thermal head design designed to provide easy to handle label printing for retail environments. On a strip of approximately 60mm, a resolution of 203 dpi can provide reliable printing results without additional cost.
Basic Principles of DIGI Printhead
The fundamental working principle of a DIGI printhead is to use a driver IC to control the conduction of some or all of the heating resistors.
When a current flows through the resistors, part of the energy is produced by electrical work done on the resistors, denoted as power P. Additionally, power is also consumed simply by current passing through the circuit, denoted as PL. The total power is the sum:
P₀ = P + PL
If the heating duration is represented by Ton (milliseconds), the energy used for printing can be calculated using the formula:
Printing Energy = P × Ton (Unit: mJ/dot)

Precautions for Using DIGI Printhead
Follow consistent and proper cleaning and maintenance protocols as specified. Recommend cleaning a direct thermal printhead and platen roller after every ribbon or media change.
Use the highest-quality thermal media-notably, direct thermal labels and thermal transfer labels and ribbons-from the commercial label printing industry's.
Again, avoid directly touching the printhead surface. If doing so is absolutely necessary, only use manufacturer-recommended materials and clean the printhead surface afterward with an approved solution.
Set the printhead pressure correctly and utilize the print speed you need to get the job done right.
Cover your printer when not in use.
