Product Description
The TE344 is a thermal printhead used in TSC brand TE-Series printers (especially the TE344 model). It is a 300 dpi thermal / thermal-transfer printhead compatible with those desktop / light-industrial barcode / label printers.
What's good about it?
Works in thermal-transfer mode (using ribbon) and possibly direct thermal depending on the TSC TE printer settings. Ensures flexibility in usage for different label materials.
The high resolution permits fine detailed printing: small font, detailed graphics, small or dense 2D / 1D barcodes. Better for applications that require sharp, clean print quality.
Designed to match the TE344 (and sometimes interchangeable with TE244) printer head housing: same mounting, connectors, thermal-element layout, etc. This means easier replacement, correct alignment, less chance of mechanical issues.
Supports the media widths that TE344/TE244 printers handle, and ribbons per applicable specs. The head is engineered to work across the range of materials (labels, tags, receipts) that the printer supports. While not always explicit in every spec sheet, that's implied by designed compatibility.
Small barcodes (linear or 2D types) are more reliably read when printed clearly. Using a good printhead reduces scanning errors.
For operations needing detailed labels but not full industrial scale (like pharmaceutical labels, electronics labels, compliance tagging, etc.), this printhead provides a good balance: high quality without the cost/size/footprint of industrial heads.
