The printhead's operating principle primarily involves controlling the jet of ink through pressure and nozzle alignment, spraying it onto paper to create text and images. Printheads are categorized as thermal and inkjet, depending on the material they're made of. These two types of printheads differ significantly in their operation. Thermal printheads use paper with dots on it, transferring the pigment from the dots directly onto the paper during printing. Therefore, thermal printheads are typically used in color printers. Inkjet printheads, on the other hand, use microscopic nozzles to spray ink onto paper, eliminating the need for specialized paper and offering a wider range of applications.
